Synopsis

When a beloved high schooler named Lucinda Hayes is found murdered, no one in her sleepy Colorado suburb is untouched—not the boy who loved her too much; not the girl who wanted her perfect life; not the officer assigned to investigate her murder. In the aftermath of the tragedy, these three indelible characters—Cameron, Jade, and Russ—must each confront their darkest secrets in an effort to find solace, the truth, or both. In crystalline prose, Danya Kukafka offers a brilliant exploration of identity and of the razor-sharp line between love and obsession, between watching and seeing, between truth and memory.

Review

Paige’s Rating ★★

This is Danya Kujafka’s first book and I thought I would love this book based on the description but turned out it was more of a like than a love. This book is based on two teenagers Cameron and Jade as well as Russ who is a police officer involved in the investigation of the death of Lucinda Hayes who is a teenager found murdered, her body covered in snow on the school playground. This book definitely should be considered more of a YA book as other reviewers have said just based on the storyline than an Adult thriller. Each chapter takes you into the world of the 3 main characters as the investigation continues to find the murderer of Lucinda. I would have preferred the story to flow more and the characters were very boring and bland, except for Cameron who I found interesting. I think this book could have been so much better than it was if the characters had more substance to them. I did enjoy the book more towards the end of the story, mainly I think because I wanted to see if I knew who the killer was. Since this book was just okay, I gave Girl in Snow 2 stars. If you would like to read this book, it is expected to be published on August 1, 2017 and the link above will take you to Amazon where you can pre-order the book.
