This unforgettable introduction to a charismatic kid heroine also marks the dazzling (and bestselling!) debut of an extraordinary new artistic talent!
Note to self: If your teacher tells you to bring something from nature for show-and-tell, she does not want you to bring an alligator! But nothing will stop Magnolia, who’s determined to have the best show-and-tell of all–until her reptilian rapscallion starts getting her into some major trouble. Now it’s up to Magnolia to find a way to send this troublemaker home–but what could possibly scare an alligator away?
I stumbled upon this book a few months ago at my local library and it has since become a favorite almost nightly read for my daughter and I and is a fun read-out-loud book. This book is best read in character, raising your voice when the main character Magnolia does and reading it with a slight bit of irritation in your voice if that makes sense (since Magnolia finds herself rather annoyed with the Alligator). When read in
When read in character like any other read-out-loud book it really draws your child’s attention more and I have found makes them enjoy the book more as well. My husband’s reading style is opposite of me he reads in a rushed and mumbled tone. My daughter honestly doesn’t like it at all and will then ask me to re-read it once he is done.
This is a cute and silly book about a little girl named Magnolia who decides she wants to bring something different than her classmates for show-and-tell and decides to bring an Alligator. What she didn’t realize was all the trouble the Alligator would cause that day before show-and-tell that afternoon. Between drawing fun pictures, flying paper airplanes around the room and eating Magnolia’s lunch, she quickly regrets her choice of bringing an Alligator in for show-and-tell.
My daughter loved this book so much we borrowed it from the library 3 times and she finally got her own copy for her birthday recently. Highly recommend this book!
